For the past month, French troops have been fighting against Islamist fighters in Mali. The death toll seems to be on the rise. French troops have been on the offensive and have now captured the cities of Tumbuktu and Gao.

On February 6, 2013, Tunisian opposition leader Chokri Belaid was assassinated, leaving many Tunisians frustrated and confused. The culprit has not yet been apprehended, but the search is ongoing. In response, to Belaid's death, Tunisia is going to form a new government.

Ivory is a very valuable material, and it comes from the ivory tusks of elephants. Because of this, "Elephant Poachers" have been killing thousands of elephants since 2004 to claim their tusks. They use the ivory for jewelry and other products.
