The immigration debate is one of major importance in the current national political arena. On Tuesday, president Obama made his position on the matter known. He intends to allow thousands of illegal immigrants to apply for citizenship.

Federal Rule Limits Aid To Families Who Can't Afford Employers Coverage

Many have been looking forward to the "Affordable Health Care Plan" or "Obamacare" and what it could possibly do. However there seem to be some misconceptions about the plan which are just now coming to light. The White House has now denied federal insurance to moderate income families who cannot afford it from their employers.

Hadiya Pendleton was honored with the opportunity of playing at the Presidential Inauguration with her school band. She is a native of Chicago, and was murdered about one mile from the president's childhood home. $11000 dollars is promised to the one who finds her killer.

81 percent of Virginia high-schoolers graduate on time

 According to the U.S. Department of Education, Virginia is improving its on-time graduation rate. In 2009, 78 percent of high school seniors graduated on time, compared to an improved 81 percent in 2010. There was also a decrease in the amount of high school dropouts.

Some People in Lynchburg Actually Prefer to Work in the Cold

 In Lynchburg, when it’s hot, it’s hot, and when it’s cold, it’s cold. Because of the complications that the heat causes, some people in Lynchburg actually prefer to work outside in the cold, because it decreases symptoms of health problems such as asthma. However, Dr. Thomas Eppes warns against being to careless in the cold, because of the problems it could cause.


 

Jonathan Agee pleads no contest in Montgomery County shooting

Jonathan Agee could get life in prison after pleading no contest to recent crimes. Not only did he murder his ex-wife, but shortly afterwards he was involved in the shooting of state trooper Matt Brannock. His final hearing is still in the works.
